Nonverbal Communication Analysis No. 3250: Donald Trump regarding John McCain: "He's no hero" - Body Language Tells us what he really thinks (VIDEO, PHOTOS)

There's a myriad of body language teaching moments crammed into this video - and below is dissected the most controversial ...

Earlier today at the Family Leadership Summit in Ames, Iowa, Donald Trump shot himself in the foot (Déjà vu). When moderator Frank Luntz referred to John McCain as a war hero (at 5:52 in video above), Mr. Trump responded, "He's not a war hero. He is a war hero ... he's a war hero 'cause he was captured. I like people that weren't captured, Okay? I hate to tell ya. He's a war hero. He's a war hero because he was captured, okay? You can have, and I believe, perhaps he's a war hero, but, but right now he's said some very bad things about a lot of people ..."

During his statement, as he spoke the words "He's not ...", Trump displays a clear microexpression - that of contempt together with a component of disgust (notice also his verbal hedging with the use of "... perhaps ...").

The following images were captured less than 0.2 seconds apart:

Contempt is the primary feeling being expressed in this moment

The dominant emotion in this instant is disgust

Contempt is a very specific emotion experienced when a person feels that another individual (or group of people) is beneath them.

Note Trump immediately attempted to backpedal (and later He tried to explain his way out of it) - yet his true feelings were already revealed. Whenever there's a disparity between the verbal language and the nonverbal language - it's the nonverbal that speaks with sincerity.
