Nonverbal Communication Analysis No. 2838: Robert De Niro, Graham Norton and Acting Advice - Body Language Tells (VIDEO, PHOTOS)

Robert De Niro was on The Graham Norton Show a few months ago. When he's on screen, the Academy Award winning actor suspends our disbelief - a' la Stanislavsky. However when he's back in his own skin - he exhibits as many body language tells as the rest of us.

Graham Norton asks De Niro about pearls of wisdom he gives to young actors. In the above video during the 0:44 - 0:45 segment (see image below), just after he jokingly tells Graham Norton that he would recommend Norton not return to acting, we see Mr. De Niro display a "Tongue Jut". In this setting a tongue jut indicates an emotion of "I've been bad". When it is clustered with other nonverbals it can be a signal of a self-deprecating mindset or extreme excitement.
