Nonverbal Communication Analysis No. 3328: PewDiePie on Stephen Colbert's Late Show - a Common Body Language Alpha Up-Regulator (VIDEO, PHOTOS)

PewDiePie was a guest yesterday on Stephen Colbert's Late Show.

Felix Arvid Ulf Kjellberg - best known for his "Let's Play" commentaries and other blogs - goes by his online alias "PewDiePie". His YouTube channel is the most popular - with over 39 Million subscribers and 10 billion views.

In the image below PewDiePie can be seen pulling up/adjusting his sock. This sign is a very common nonverbal indicator of anxiety - and mores specifically of  "dialing-up" one's alpha qualities. The psyche is in effect saying, "We need to be more assertive, more alpha." It's more commonly displayed in men vs. women. In addition, the sock adjust is more frequent seen in individuals with alpha personalities (and/or alpha moments) when the person realizes (subconsciously and consciously), that they need to up-regulate their alpha emotional tone (and down-shift their beta characteristics [at least for the moment]).
