Bill Gates, Satya Nadella and Steve Balmer (left to right) are all displaying different nonverbal MAPs (Manipulator, Adaptor, Pacifier). Despite these men all being brilliant, wealthy and very accomplished, these body language configurations all are significant for beta emotional tones. Gates' and Balmer's full and unilateral arm-crosses are suggestive of defensiveness and closed-mindedness, with an added critical evaluation component by Balmer (hand to chin) - while Nadella's fig leaf nonverbal conveys both low emotional comfort and diminished confidence.
With rare exception leaders should never adopt any of these nonverbal combinations.
