Nonverbal Communication Analysis No. 3748: Donald Trump, Bill Belichick and Exaggerated Mouth Movements - Body Language and Emotional Intelligence (VIDEO, PHOTOS)

What do you do if you're Donald Trump, you're in New England and it's the day before the Election? You read aloud a glowing letter from the Patriots' Coach Bill Belichick of course. Earlier today in New Hampshire, Mr. Trump did exactly that ...

One very telling nonverbal pattern which Donald Trump continually exemplifies is that of exaggerated mouth movements. This is particularly noticeable during the video above, as Mr. Trump says (beginning at 0:06), "... I was in the plane and they handed me a letter and it was from Coach Belichick ..."

In the image above, during 0:11, as Mr. Trump begins to say the first syllable of "... Belichick ..." his lips and mouth become especially exaggerated in their movement.

This continues as Trump finishes saying, "... Belichick ...", he prolongs his mouth configuration giving the final syllable a melodramatic send-off.

When a person uses exaggerated mouth and lip movements while speaking - it's a strong signal that they believe they are (without a doubt) the alpha relative to the other people who are present (or viewing via TV, etc.).

Take Home Point: Even though a person may very well be 'saying all the right things' - if you notice this hyperbolic mouth-lip dynamic - you can be sure they think of you as a beta (their subordinate).
